The Addams Family Tickets
The Addams Family , a bunch of fictional characters, was created by the famous cartoonist Charles Adams. It has been adapted by almost all other Media, including the theater musical having the same name. This musical is based on the book written by Marshal Brickman and Rick Elice for the very purpose. The songs are written wrote and composed by Andrew Lippa. It is obvious that the audience don’t expect any usual and routine thing from the member of Adams Family . To the shock of most, Lurch sings a song in the end, perhaps producing the only time he opened him mouth in the entire musical.
The satire on the ideal American family, initially published by The New Yorker, gained prompt public liking. This weird family consists of Mr. and Mrs. Addams, their two kids Wednesday and Pugsley, Grandma Frump, uncle Fester, cousin Itt, the butler Lurch and a ghostly hand. They are all fond of morbid and macabre stuff, from eating raw worms to sleeping on piercing beds; all characters have their own strange idea of fun. After almost 25 years of successful print experience, finally a black and white TV series was created by ABC-TV network in 1964. The theme song of the TV series, composed by Vic Mizzy was beautiful. You would recognize the beat with the very first note. Harpsichord and finger snaps percussive produce the weird, spooky and yet funny beat. Ten years after the TV series, a musical variety show named as the Addams Family Fun House, was produced by ABC in 1972. Liz Torres did the role of Morticia, Jack Riley was Gomez and Pat Cormack acted as Lurch. Other adaptations include the TV movie Halloween With The New Adams Family, 3 films, animated movie, several video games, a pinball game, stage musicals and advertisements.
The Addams Family musical begins with the breaking of the news that Wednesday has reached the age to choose her mate. She comes out of a coffin; her iconic braids are cut off. She is agrees to the family tradition, followed by the song "When You’re An Addams". Uncle Fester, the narrator reveals that she has invited his new boyfriend and his parents to play the "Game" with them at dinner. The change in Wednesday is apparent; she has become violent and confesses to her brother that she is in love. She chooses to wear the same dress as that of her boyfriend’s mother Alice and upsets her family. Alice and her boyfriend, Lucas leave the dinner table to spend some personal time together, leaving their parents discussing how to make their married life passionate.
Finally the game begins where everyone on the table is bound to tell a secret. Gomez breaks his story of scaring the crows away, he accidently compares Morticia with a goat and upsets her. Uncle Fester confesses he is love with the moon. The drunk Alice declares that she is living a loveless life with her husband Mal. Soon the calm dinner table becomes a mess. Suddenly Wednesday shocks everyone by announcing that she and Lucas are getting married. After few moments a storm hits the mansion, which excites Wednesday, but Lucas requests her to stay in and talk things out between the two families. Meanwhile Pugsley is worried that his sister has grown up and won’t be around to violently hit him anymore. The act II of the musical is both funny, until the giant pet squid, Beatrice kidnaps Mr. Mall.
Wednesday’s funny remarks, Pugsley’s needless fears, Gomez’s love for Mortica, Mortica’s fear of getting old, Uncle Fester devotion for the moon and the beautiful song; all this and more makes The Addams Family a must watch musical. It is suitable for everyone. The Addams Family tickets promise a perfect family time, and nothing is parallel to the good family times.
