Rocky The Musical Tickets

Based on the 1976 film by the same name, Rocky is a new Broadway musical that will premiere on March 13^th. The musical adaptation of the hit movie is headed by a creative team that has won 5 Tony Awards for its expertise in various fields. It includes the director Alex Timbers with Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty as the songwriters. The book has been written by Thomas Meehan. Alex Timbers’s most famous work includes Peter and the Starcatcher for which he was nominated at the 2012 Tony Awards. Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have also provided an original score for the musical. However, Lynn and Stephen are best known for writing songs for the Broadway musical Once on this Island that won the Olivier Award for ‘London’s Best Musical.’ They have also written songs for the animated film Anastasia which got nominated for the Golden Globe Award and Academy Award. Thomas Meehan found immense fame for his works Annie, The Producers and Hairspray,and has bagged the Tony Award for ‘Best Book of a Musical’ thrice. The first one was won by him for Annie in 1977 which was also his Broadway debut. Following this, he won the award for his project, The Producers in 2001. The last among them has been won in 2003 for Hairspray. He wrote the book for the musical Rocky that is going to open on Broadway this year. The producer of the musical is Sylvester Stallone, who needs no introduction. A recognized actor, director and writer, he has established himself as multitalented artist. His screenplay for the film Rocky was nominated for an Academy Award for ‘Best Original Screenplay.’ Stallone was the lead actor in the original movie Rocky, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for ‘Best Actor.’

The choreographers for the musical are Kelly Devine and Steven Hoggett. Steven Hoggett bagged the 2009 Olivier Award for ‘Best Theatre Choreographer.’ He has also received a Tony Award nomination for his work in Once the Broadway. Kelly Devine, on the other hand, is an internationally recognized choreographer whose works include The Wiz, Bloody Bloody Andrew and A Christmas Story.
