The opera also opened in the UK area, premiering at the current Royal Opera House, on May 14 1853. Soon after, in 1855, the opera also opened in the United States of America, at Academy of Music, New York. The production, however, got banned in France after its initial controversial debut, which featured the endeavored murder of a crowned head. Today, the audiences, far and wide, appreciate the novelty of Rigoletto.
