Plot

The Phantom of the Opera is a tale of a soprano singer Christine and a Phantom who is madly in love with her. Christine’s performance has lost its charm and enthusiasm because she is in a sad state of mind after her father’s death. The Phantom helps her gain momentum in her singing and in doing so he falls head over heels in love with her. Christine on the other hand takes him for an angel.

Phantom in reality is a disfigured music genius who grows insecure and possessive about Christine when he discovers about her childhood friend Raoul’s feelings for her. The story then takes many interesting turns and leaves the audience moved towards the end.

The New Production

Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Phantom of the Opera’ features a much talented and well-known cast and crew. It has costume design is done by the Tony Award winning Maria Björnson and the lighting has been done by Paule Constable who also has a Tony Award to his name.
