Peppa Pig: How it all started

It all started when the producer of Peppa Pig, Phil Davies was studying animation at the Middlesex University. There he became friends with, Neville Astley and Mark Baker. However, Davies lost interest in animation and decided to become a producer but Astley and Baker stuck at it. A few years later, things became tough for both Astley and Baker so, Davies decided to do something together and the trio soon came up with the idea of Peppa Pig. They then began to think about the theme of the show and eventually decided to create a four-year old character called, Peppa, a female pig which will narrate the whole series from her perspective. The guys then decided to make Peppa’s personality slightly fiery and because of that they dressing her in a red outfit.   An English animator who has worked in Oscar nominated short films like, ‘Jolly Roger,’ ‘The Hill Farm’ and ‘The Village,’ Mark Baker later joined the crew and helped co-create, write and direct Peppa Pig. When creating the show, the team added more characters to Peppa’s family including, her brother George Pig, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Grandpa pig and Granny Pig among others. They also included her friends, Suzy Sheep, Delphine Donkey, Zoe Zebra, Wendy Wolf, Danny Dog and enemies, Candy Cat, Lisa Fox, Freddy Fox and Brianna Bear. The guys decided to give these characters human like attributes and emotions like, sadness, irritation, happiness, confusion and bewilderment.

Peppa Pig – The Show

If you’re parents to kids of ages 2 to 5 then you probably know who Peppa is. If not, then here’s an introduction.  She’s a loveable, sassy little piggy who lives with her small family that includes Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and little brother George. Just like any other “girl”, Peppa likes to dress up, play games and jump around in muddy puddles. All of her adventures end happily with loud snorts and lots of laughter.

Peppa’s Brand New Adventure - Peppa Pig Live! Big Splash

There is a leak in nursery’s roof and Peppa and friends have to fix it quickly. They come up with an idea to plan a fair and raise money so that Mr. Bull can do the repairs. An exciting day out is planned by Peppa, George, Daddy and Mummy Pig. Not to be left behind are Danny Dog, Suzy Sheep and Pedro Pony who work together to organize the whole event. Peppa never misses an opportunity to splash around in mud so she organizes a Champion Puddle Jumping competition. As everyone gets wet, Mr. Potato will judge the contest. A sure shot blast for the entire family, Peppa Pig’s Big Splash will be an interactive experience full of dancing, singing, games and muddy puddles.

What to Expect at the Live Show

If you plan on taking your kids to the show, then here’s what you can expect from the fun extravaganza.

• Fun-filled songs by Mani Svavarsson, the BAFTA award-winning composer will bring the arena alive.
• There will be a lot of Peppa merchandise available – balloons, glow in the dark windmills and rucksacks.
• Lifesize, colorful puppets sing and dance to popular tracks and engage the kids through their lively banter and fun antics.
• Children get to participate in the Champion Puddle Jumping competition and it’s a messy lot of fun!
• Kids and adults are encouraged to join in all the songs and the venues come alive with the famous Bing Bong song.
