The Classic Myth Shines Through Performances
Orpheus: Jakub Józef Orlinski
Eurydice: Meigui Zhang
Love: Nicole Heaston
The story that’s deeply nestled in the power of love is beautifully depicted by the leader actors, Jakub Józef Orlinski and Meigui Zhang. Their chemistry soars through the rafters as they play the role of a couple deeply in love. Orlinski shines in the part where he has to highlight Orpheus’s mastery of lyre and soulful singing. Soprano Meigui Zhang nails the scenes with her precision and blooming vocals. The complex musical storytelling is handled wonderfully by the performers as they dig deep into characterization and sing their hearts out. Orlinski expresses Orpheus’s pain with notable gentleness and power through in his heroic gestures. The complexity in Eurydice’s personality where she’s unsure about what makes her happy is depicted effetely by Meigui Zhang.
