Presenting contemporary and traditional ballet with equal grace and aplomb, the National Ballet of Canada is a fusion of passion, talent and courage. The company performs throughout the year, with shows taking place during the summers, fall and winter. The holiday season is special with the inclusion of The Nutcracker. This year the annual holiday extravaganza will take place from December 12, 2019 till January 4, 2020. About the National Ballet of Canada

Formed in 1951, the classical company was established by Celia Franca and is the only Canadian company that presents a complete range of modern and traditional ballets. Celebrating the works of maestros like Sir Frederick Ashton, John Cranko, George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev and John Neumeier, the National Ballet pays tribute to the 20^th and 21^st century compositions. Time and again the company has reimagined the opus of William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Alexei Ratmansky, James Kudelka and Crystal Pite.

The National Ballet has been running successfully for the last 50 years under the artistic leadership of director Karen Kain. Through her vision, Kain has breathed new life into the company, hired some of the world’s best choreographers and phenomenal dancers. The Ballet Company hosts all of its productions at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, built specifically for ballet performances in 2006. The costumes and set design is constructed at The Gretchen Ross Production Centre. Through its full production setup and world class amenities, the National Ballet rents out these services to different ballet companies all over the world.
