The Story
Miss Saigon is a tragic tale of love set in the 1970s. The story centers on a young Vietnamese woman, Kim, who has been orphaned by war and is forced to work in a bar called “Dreamland” owned by a disreputable character referred to as the Engineer. At the bar, she meets an American G.I. named Chris and falls hopelessly in love with him. The war-weary American marine proclaims his love for her and promises to take her to the States. The fall of Saigon drifts them apart and Kim struggles for the next three years to find the love of her life, unaware that Chris has moved on and has no idea that during this time she has also given birth to his son.
