Mamma Mia! boasts of a very talented creative team. Besides being the show’s producers, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus have also provided the music and lyrics. Penned by Catherine Johnson, the musical has Phyllida Lloyd as the director. One of the highlights of the show is its superb dance sequences and the credit goes to the choreographer Anthony Van Laast.  

Mamma Mia! the musical features music by ABBA and the songs are integrated cleverly into the story. The plot revolves around a young woman Sophie who lives on a Greek island with her mother. She is about to get married and her only wish is that her father walks her down the aisle. Not a problem, right? But only if you know who your real father is and that’s Sophie’s dilemma. While her mother is doing her best to keep the father’s identity a secret, Sophie is determined to know who he is. Hence, she finds her mother’s dairy and narrows down three men who could possibly be her father. The fun starts when all three show up on the island and discover why they were invited.

Mamma Mia! is full of enthusiasm  and endless energy. With its mixture of popular songs, camp dance routines, 70s costumes and a soppy romantic comedy script, it treats the audience to an evening full of enjoyment and pleasure. Mamma Mia!
