The musical follows the story of Simba, prince of the Pride Lands, who is raised under the kind and just leadership of his father. As heir to the throne, the enemies in the Pride Lands make sure he loses his destined way to guilt and denial. But with the help of unusual friends like Timon, Pumbaa and Nala, Simba is nudged into the right direction.

The musical is based on Disney’s hit animated movie, which is lauded as one of the best animated feature films of all time. The musical plays its part to take the Lion King franchise to even newer heights. Since its world premiere, the musical has received numerous awards and accolades. It was awarded the ‘Best Musical’ at the Tony Awards along with six other wins. It also won eight Drama Desk Awards. The West End production nabbed two Laurence Olivier Awards while the original France production won three Molière Awards.
