Les Miserables is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. Revolving around the era of French Revolution, it is based on the life story of an ex-prisoner Jean Valijean who is released after 19 years. Poverty and hunger forced him to steal a bread loaf so he could feed his family and when caught he was punished harshly for it. After his release he met a bishop who played a major role in changing him as a person. The plot sees a twist when he is made the mayor and a factory owner.  His bitter past follows him everywhere, making things harder for him. But staying put, he deals with everything courageously and gets into a relationship. This increases his responsibility further but Valijean take them up for his love.
