Lance Burton belongs to the popular city of Columbia in Kentucky where he was born in the year 1960. His childhood brought up was done in Louisville. While Burton was just five years old he started taking interest in magic and as a result a family member gifted him his first ever magic trick book by the name of Magic Made Easy. During his childhood he had met famous magician Harry Collins who eventually became the magic teacher of Burton during his teens. Lance Burton took part in a local magic competition in the year 1977 and managed to get the first prize. More fame came to him when he performed for the first time in 1981 on the popular TV show The Tonight Show, at that time it was being hosted by Johnny Carson who got so impressed from the tricks and illusions of Burton that he gave him another chance to appear on the show. During his career Burton has appeared twenty times on The Tonight Show ten times with Johnny Carson as host and ten times with Jay Leno as host.

Lance Burton is extremely famous among people of all ages as his illusions and tricks cater for all age groups. He has appeared on TV series like Knight Rider and Nickelodeon channel special program Mystery Magic Special. Lance Burton made history in the year 1994 when he signed a thirteen year long contract with world renowned Las Vegas hotel Monte Carlo Resort where he regularly performed at the custom built artists theater known as Lance Burton Theater. Academy of Magical Arts awarded Lance Burton a Masters Fellowship in magic. The Academy of Magical Arts also awarded Burton the "Magician of the Year Award" two times. Burton has also won two more awards namely Blackstone Theater Award and Grand Prix Award.
