Detroit Auto Show is counted among North America’s largest auto show that starts after days of press preview, industry preview and charity preview events. Held in Detroit, Michigan, usually at the Cobo Center over a floor space of almost a million square feet, the show is known to gather a sum of more than five hundred million dollars for the local economy alone. Despite the widely covered recent struggles Detroit’s auto industry was confronted with, the city has continued to make a big time comeback in the United States, creating major leaps in profits through American can manufacturers. In 2013, the wildly anticipated event celebrated its hundredth and sixth anniversary in late January, a week later than the usual dates. This delay in the holding the show brought in more attendees since it left more time for auto fans to make time from winter holidays. While many car freaks get all high on the idea of checking out the most recent car models at the show, many of look forward to the Detroit event to be part of the happenings  in this historic Motor City. In Cobo, the biggest happenings around town include the newly shifting focus on the desirability of new concept autos like hybrids and electric cars that are not only environment friendly, they allow one to save on gas costs. Detroit Auto Show traces its origin back to 1907 when Detroit hosted its first auto show at Beller’s Beer Garden on Riverside Park. Since then the show has been held there every year with the exception of the time between 1943 and 1952. The event was given a new name in 1989, when it was changed to North American International Auto Show. Since the start of 1965, the show has been taking place at Cobo Center, and is considered to be of particular importance since Metro Detroit area happens to be home to the headquarters of big names such as General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, as well as Bug Three America automakers. Each year the show follows the same formant including two introductory segments and two award ceremony segments; the former include introductions of concept cars and production cars, while the latter cover Truck and Car of the Year and the EyesOn Design Awards.
In the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, Cadillac ATS won the car award while Ram 1500 won the truck award, while the Eyes on Design award was won by the 2014 Cadillac ELR in the Production Category along with Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts had a tie for the sought-after Concept Category. It is an effort of the Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association; an organization that has been promoting the trade of world class vehicle in Michigan. The Auto Show will launch with the black-tie charity gala. It will benefit the DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation. The grand exhibit of seventeen luxury cars will showcase pieces worth more than a hundred thousand dollars. This fleet has a number of attractions which include a spectacular a 2013 duo of Ferraris, the Aston Martin Vanquish’s 2014 (pre-production model). A Pre-production model from prominent American Car manufactures will also be features. These include a pre-production model of Chevrolet Silverado, Mazda6, Mini Paceman, Ford Fiesta, GMC Sierra, Ford Transit Connect and Lexus LSF Sport.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray is an iconic American sports car that will be represented on this show to mark 60th anniversary of Corvette, Gilmore Car Museum has given Chevrolet a chance to exhibit its 2013 Corvette ZR1 alongside a 1958 Corvette. Another interesting effort by some manufacturers is a collection of its restored vehicles. This set features a 1915 Rauch-Lang, a 1915 Model T Ford, a 1916 Packard V-12, a1917 Mercer Runabout amongst many other. The 1970 Challenger Hemi R/T will also be there to entertain Muscle Car fans.
