The four act opera show by Giuseppe Verdi, Aida has fascinated theatre lovers for over a century. First performed in 1871 in Cairo, Egypt, by conductor Giovanni Bottesini, the show features an Italian libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni. In 1872, the show made its debut in Italy, where Verdi was heavily involved with its production. The show was extremely well received by the critics as well as audience. The success of the Italian premiere led towards several performances at major venues throughout the country.
