The Simon & Garfunkel Story – Authentic & Exciting

After touring the world and following a limited run at London’s West End, Maple Tree Entertainment Limited is bringing its critically acclaimed production to the US. “The Simon & Garfunkel Story” will be stopping in more than 35 cities, treating the fans to limited engagement in different venues.

Directed by Dean Elliott – the talented composer, arranger and conductor was also the first artist to play the lead role of Paul Simon in the premier 2015 production. Also the creator of the musical, Elliot had always been a fan of the music legends Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel and owned all of their albums. But it was during his trip to a record shop that he got the idea of “telling their story” when another customer saw him holding one of their albums and asking Elliot “what happened to them?”.

A theatrical with a storyline and lots of music, “The Simon & Garfunkel Story” centers on the two boys and how they rose from a humble background to become immensely successful and world-famous performers. Against the backdrop of 60s and 70s’ black and white images, the audiences learn new things about the two stars as they started their musical journey while still in high school. Initially called Tom & Jerry, they re-launched themselves as Simon and Garfunkel with the release of their debut album “Wednesday Morning 3 A.M.”. Through video projections of newsreel footage, the fans take a nostalgia trip through the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Whether an admirer from the same era or a fan from the newer generation, you’ll be tempted to tap your feet to the infectious beats. Songs like “The Boxer”, “Mrs Robinson”, “Homeward Bound” and “Sound of Silence” will show you the time of your life.

A Tribute that Respects the Artists, and the Audiences

The touring production features Sam O’Hanlon and Charles Blyth playing Simon and Garfunkel, respectively. In fact, the world was going through a lot of destruction in the form of Vietnam War, racial riots and presidential assassination.

All the significant songs like “Mrs. Robinson”, “Bridge over Troubled Water”, “My Little Town” and “The Sound of Silence” are given due importance in the show. Ending with their 1981 free reunion concert at the New York’s Central Park that drew a crowd of 500,000 people, “The Simon & Garfunkel Story” leaves a lasting impact.

To date the jukebox musical has entertained more than a quarter of a million fans across the world. With new dates announced and the huge demand for Garfunkel Story 2018 tickets, the number will surely increase. Simon and Garfunkel’s celebrated gems are well-executed and fully deserving of the rousing standing ovation.
