Broadway Premiere and Touring

Elf the Musical is a fun musical based on the book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. The Broadway show premiered at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in November, 2010 for a limited holiday special. Directed by Casey Nicholaw, the musical ran 57 shows plus 15 previews and ended in January, 2011. After its success, Elf the Musical embarked on a mini-tour in 2012 holding shows across North America.

Production Success & Revivals

The Broadway revival at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre occurred in November, 2012 and several subsequent productions ran side by side as well. A television adaption of the musical took place in 2014 under the name of ?Elf: Buddy?s Musical Christmas? and featured the voices of Ed Asner, Jay Leno, Jim Parsons and Mark Hammil. Throughout all this, Elf the Musical has broken box office records several times, grossing a massive one million in just a week?s time in 2010 as well as becoming the third highest-grossing production of the year.
