One musical that has recently been making waves and winning hearts of everyone is none other than Arcadia. Arcadia is surely a unique play and has a powerful story-line, it is on its way to become one of the most watched musicals of the year and the credit goes to both the director and story writer. Those of you who love to watch musicals, Arcadia is simply a not-to-be-missed production so grab your Arcadia Tickets only from us and have a great evening!
Arcadia is a thrilling mildly paced drama written by Tom Stoppard and directed by David Leveaux. It started previews in Feb 2011, and in Mar 2011 it was opened on Broadway for the theatergoers. Stoppard is not at all like the conventional writers, instead he focuses on relationships with a tinge of physics, the story-line circling around thermo-dynamics law along with lots of historical research thrown into the story. The story is set in 1809 and tells about a young lady Thomasina Coverly and her devotion towards science. Coverly lives in Derbyshire and is a very intelligent and gifted science student, she proposes an amazing theory that is simply startling but all elder people around her including her teacher are too much busy with their routine lives and preoccupied with their professional rivalries, illicit desires and secret passions.
Thomasina proposes a theory that "If you could stop every atom in its position and direction and you are extremely good at algebra then you can exactly calculate the formula for all the future". Some of the first half play is set in the era of Thomasina Coverly in 1809 but the remaining play is set in the current times where mathematicians and historians are discussing and pondering as to what could have happened in the Coverly house two hundred years back. Some characters in the play seems to be in search of knowledge where as on the other hand some are not at all interested in learning anything. One of the play character Hannah Jarvis (Lia Williams) comments that "the wanting to know that makes us matter". This saying of Jarvis was definitely at the back of mind of Tom Stoppard and this production is truly extraordinary and the devotion which Stoppard put in his writing has been matched by the great acting of the characters.
The cast of the play is truly energetic and every actor has done justice to their roles, Margaret Colin (Lady Croon) is completely fit in her character that is full of arrogance with the right touch of wit, Tom Riley (Septimus Hodge) is clever, vulnerable and elegant. Hannah Jarvis (Lia Williams) is different she grows on you the more she settles in the evening. Bel Powley (Thomasina Coverly)has the abilities and talents that are too much for a young lade of her age. Other characters in the cast include Billy Crudup (Bernard Nightingale), David Turner (Ezra Chater), Glen Fleshler (Captain Brice), Grace Gummer (Chloe Coverly), Noah Robbins (Gus Coverly/Augustus Coverly) and Byron Jennings (Richard Noakes).
David Leveaux has truly motivated all the cast of Arcadia to experiment as much as they can while remaining in the limits of the script and this experiment has truly paid off. The cast has played their characters as best as they could and this has made Arcadia simply a superb and exhilarating production and once the play ends one is truly left spellbound. Arcadia is truly a gripping play and it is simply brilliant and delicious and it simply can’t be missed at any cost by anyone so hurry up and grab your Arcadia Tickets only from us and we assure you that your experience with us will be nothing less than perfect!
