Under the direction of James Lapine, the Broadway hit musical, ‘Annie’ is now heading towards your town. With music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charmin, the show is loved for songs like ‘Hard –Knock Life’ and ‘Tomorrow’. In its three decades of performances, the musical has visited a number of countries and also conducted national tours. This year, it will start off by visiting the world’s traditional automotive center, Detroit.

The story of the musical unrolls with the introduction of the redheaded orphan, Annie, who is abused by the orphanage matron. The suffering increases every day, and it increases her urge to run away. But despite her desire, she doesn’t get lucky until the billionaire; Oliver Warbucks is introduced in the story. He takes Annie home and promises to find her parents by putting up a reward of $50,000.  Attracted by the cash prize, Miss Hannigan’s brother, Rooster and his girl friend Lily pretend to be Annie’s parents. The interesting exchange of dialogues and the suspense in the story till their identity is proven keep the audiences at the edge of their seats.

Fisher Theater, the venue with an ample seating arrangement and a great view is going to host the upcoming Annie the musical’s run in Detroit.
