Founded in 1988, the ballet company has its presence all around the world, performing not just at designated venues but also on Broadway, television and cruise ships. Carolina Ballet gives ample opportunities to its dancer to explore their talent and reach their potential. To achieve this, the company has hired internationally renowned dancers who not just teach the skills but also instill passion in the dancers. Carolina Ballet presents a blend of classical and neo-classical choreography that keeps its repertoire diverse. The Nutcracker

The 2019-20 schedule for the Ann Brodie’s Carolina Ballet is out and it includes the annual presentation of The Nutcracker. The sales have already started for the Carolina Ballet - The Nutcracker Tickets as so far only limited run has been announced.

The story of The Nutcracker is not new – young Clara receives a toy nutcracker from her godfather Drosselmeyer, who also happens to be a magician and a toymaker. Clara loves her present so much that she goes to sleep with it and when the clock strikes at midnight, all the toys around her come alive. Including her favorite nutcracker that turns into a prince. A battle breaks out led by the mouse king’s army and gingerbread soldiers. The nutcracker then takes Clara around the pine forest as they dance under the snowflakes. In the act two, Clara and her prince nutcracker head out to the Land of Sweets, meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and celebrate by singing and dancing.

With Columbia Festival Orchestra providing live music, The Nutcracker entertains and delights with its shenanigans. The vibrant costumes add a lot of color to the stage and the stage design is mesmerizing. The dancers showcase skills, grace and flexibility. The highlight of all The Nutcracker ballets is the score by Tchaikovsky. The rousing music captures the spirit of the holiday season, treating the audience to both joyous and poignant compositions.
