Raptors – A Side Making Noise

  The Toronto Raptors have been part of the NBA landscape since 1995, although they were formed in 1993. The Raptors have had a bit of a rollercoaster of a ride during their time in the NBA. They started off slowly and it was in the 2006-2007 season that they first won a major title in the form of a division championship. After a small period of relative obscurity, the Raptors roared back to form once again. The Toronto Raptors won three division titles between 2014 and 2016. After a year’s gap, they went on to win another three straight division crowns from 2018 till 2020. In 2019, the Raptors had their most successful campaign to date. Apart from winning the division title, they also got their hands on a conference crown and the NBA Championship.  

Charlotte Hornets – A Franchise Trying to Make its Mark

  The Charlotte Hornets were formed in the year 1988. They spent the first four seasons out of the playoffs. The Hornets then ended that run and made seven trips to the playoffs in the next ten campaigns. Unfortunately, the Hornets franchise remained inactive after that for two years and began playing once again from the 2004-2005 season as the Charlotte Bobcats. That remained the case till the 2013-2014 season and during this time period, they qualified for the postseason twice only.   They reverted to the Charlotte Hornets once again from the 2014-2015 season, but the switch back hasn’t brought in any success either. They have just made one trip to the postseason ever since.   Will the Raptors clinch another title this year or will it be the year of the Hornets?
