Before being named as the Toledo Mud Hens, this minor league baseball team had existed shortly as the Toledo Maumees, the Black Pirates and the White Stockings. The team first played at the ArmoryPark after which it moved to the Swayne Filed until the 50s. In 1927, this amazing team won the spectacular AA title pennant and by the 50s the team was active in the world of football.
In 1953, the Toledo Mud Hens bagged the Association title, their second so far, in a match that attracted around three fifty thousand fans.
