Tennessee Volunteers Tickets
The Tennessee Volunteers are the college sports team at the University of Tennessee. Established in 1794, the University of Tennessee is a public university located in Knoxville and is distinct from other competitive universities in the United States in many ways. It has separate athletic departments for both men's and women's sports, with the men's teams known as the Volunteers and the women's teams known as the Lady Volunteers. Both departments operate independently. The University of Tennessee was ranked as one of the top universities in the United States in 2010. The athletic department includes baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, diving, volleyball, tennis, and several other sports. Tennessee Volunteers tickets for all of these games remain in high demand throughout the year.
Most of the teams at the University of Tennessee have both men's and women's sports teams, with football, basketball, baseball, and softball being the major dominant sports. The teams compete in the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division with other competitive teams, and the Volunteers have won numerous National Football Championships. The Lady Volunteers have also had great success, winning multiple championships in basketball.
In total, twenty varsity teams play under the popular nickname "Volunteers" and the mascot "Smokey". The orange and white colors were chosen for the university teams by Charles Moore, the president of the athletic association at the time. Each sport game is supported by the crowd and becomes an event in itself, with the university's marching band being a source of pride and recognition. At the beginning of every game, a march to the stadium and a salute to the hill make the team stand out in the eyes of sports fans, paying tribute to the history and the university. Neyland Stadium is the football stadium for the Tennessee Volunteers, where they play surrounded by thousands of enthusiastic spectators. The "Opening of the T" is one of the most famous acts by any football team.
The Tennessee Volunteers have been providing amazing football to the crowds from their hometown and beyond. After a successful season in 2009, the Vols are now looking forward to meeting the expectations of their fans and moving up the standings in 2010. Their most intense rivalries are with the teams of Alabama and Florida. The Tennessee Lady Volunteers have the strongest basketball team, which keeps rocking the court each season. Pat Summitt is the best coach ever and her coaching is paying great rewards. Basketball rivalries exist with the teams of the University of Connecticut and Georgia. Winning has become a tradition for the Lady Volunteers basketball team.
