What to Expect From the St Louis Blues in 2016-17 Season

The St Louis Blues hockey is back! The team is all set to drop the puck on preseason and it’s an important year for the side. Earlier head coach Ken Hitchcock announced that this would be his last year and the Blues already found his replacement in Mike Yeo, the former Minnesota Wild coach. As he waits in the wings, Hitchcock would hope to add another win to the Blues championships’ haul.

The free agency hit the Blues hard and they had to part ways with Troy Brouwer, David Backes and Steve Ott. The dynamics of the team changed completely as young talent had to step in to fill the shoes of the veterans. The key additions for St Louis Blues include goalie Carter Hutton and forward David Perron. Luckily for the side they still have Vladimir Tarasenko, a bonafide superstar who scored 40 goals last year. He will be supported on ice by the forwards Alexander Steen, Jaden Schwartz and Paul Stastny. All eyes are also on the defensemen Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk and Jay Bouwmeester.
