Formerly known as the Miami Masters, it draws crowds in the vicinity of three hundred thousand every year at Crandon Park in Miami, Florida. The tournament has a cash prize total of over five million dollars and has been won by Serena Williams and Andre Agassi the most. These and many other tennis legends can be seen facing each other with Sony Open tickets.

One of the biggest events in pro tennis is the Sony Open, formerly known as the Miami Masters. The 2013 championship was a massive success, and drew crowds from all across the US. It was the 29th Miami Masters competition held and was part of the ATP Masters 1000 and the WTA Premier Mandatory Tournaments. A staggering five million dollars were awarded. Many who saw the event live in 2013, have bought Sony Open tickets for the next championship, scheduled in 2014.

It is one of the foremost tennis tournaments in pro tennis, an ATP Masters 1000 event. In 2013, many emerged as players to look out for. The men's singles champion was Andy Murray with Serena Williams taking the women's title. The men's doubles winners were Jean–Julien Rojer and Aisam–ul–Haq Qureshi. The women's doubles champions were Katarina Srebotnik and Nadia Petrova.

The tournament started off in 1985. Following that, it has been organized every year. Played on outdoor hard courts, it is an ATP Masters 1000 event that is part of the ATP World Tour and a Premier Mandatory event that is part of the WTA Tour. It has a total purse of five million dollars, one hundred and eighty five thousand dollars. It is held by IMG and is often named after its sponsors, such as Lipton, NASDAQ, Ericsson and, now, Sony Ericsson.

The 2010 edition of the Miami Masters, the Sony Ericsson Open, was attended by three hundred thousand people. This ranks the Open as one the biggest tennis tournaments next to the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments. In 2011, this figure rose even further, with three hundred and sixteen thousand people attending the Open. The first men's singles winner of this tennis tournament was Tim Mayotte, who won the event in 1985. Similarly, the first women's singles winner was Martina Navratilova. In 1985, a mixed doubles competition was also held, with Martina Navratilova and Heinz Gunthardt winning it. Both Andre Agassi and Serena Williams holding the record for most wins with six a piece. These players also hold the record for the most finals appearances as well.

For lovers of pro tennis, this is undoubtedly a tournament to see with Sony Open tickets. Watch as the pros duke it out in front of a packed audience.
