History

The San Francisco Giants trace their history back to the year 1883 to the days of the New York Gothams. From 1886 onwards, they began to be known as the New York Giants. In 1957 the franchise upped sticks and relocated to San Francisco to take up its current name.

They have also clinched twenty three pennants, the most by any side in the National League.
