From 2007 onwards till the present day the team has been called the Rockford IceHogs.
The Rockford IceHogs came into being in 1995 and were called the Baltimore Bandits. In 1997, the team relocated to Cincinnati in the state of Ohio and its title changed to Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. The team was suspended from operating when the 2005-2006 AHL season came. This was because the team did not have NHL affiliates after the ones that were associated with them before such as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Detroit Red Wings went on to sign new contracts with two various AHL franchises. On the 19th of March in 2007, the team was effectively purchased by the City of Rockford and relocated there to become known as the Rockford IceHogs. On the 11th of January in 2013, the team reached their two millionth fans with Rachael Williams signing on as being their avid supporter.
