Purdue Boilermakers Cities

The Purdue Boilermakers are a group of 18 varsity teams that play for Purdue University. They are headquartered in West Lafayette, Indiana. Students, alumni, and teams are often referred to as "Boilermakers" or "Boilers". The current sports director is Morgan Burke. The Boilers play their home basketball games at Mackey Arena, baseball at Lambert Field, and football at Ross-Ade Stadium. The official colors are black and old gold. There are two team mascots: Purdue Pete, a tall and muscular man wearing a t-shirt and cap of old gold with a large "P" in the center, and Boilermaker Special, a locomotive engine from the Victorian era. The fight song is "Hail Purdue!", usually performed by the Purdue University All-American Marching Band.

The eighteen varsity teams compete in different types of sports such as golf, gymnastics, football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, and even wrestling. In men's and women's basketball, they have an amazing twenty-nine Big Ten Championships to their name. They have won one men's and one women's Golf NCAA championship. The Boilermakers have also won eight Big Ten Championships. Most recently, in the last three years, one Boiler swimmer, David Boudia, has been making waves as he has won six NCAA swimming titles during this time. Last but not least, Purdue Boilermakers have also won six Big Ten Wrestling titles. They have a fierce rivalry with the University of Notre Dame, the University of Illinois, and Indiana University.
