It was a season of change for the Phoenix Suns as they continue with their charge to the top of the NBA summit. The Suns have struggled over the last few years and had to go through a franchise wide overhaul as part of which they drafted some promising young players and made intelligent trades to add quality to their squad. Dawn of an Era

The Suns were created in 1968 as an expansion team and were one of the first sports franchises in the four major professional sports leagues in North America to be based in the state of Arizona. The team went through mixed results in its early years. It managed to qualify for the playoffs only once during the first seven years, but shocked the league by going all the way to the NBA Finals in 1976.

The Suns continued to consistently qualify for the playoffs; however the national title has continued to elude them to this day. Today, they have the best win-loss percentage for a franchise that has never won the NBA championship and have managed to win two conference titles and six division championships to date.
