PBR: The history

The seeds for the formation of the Professional Bull Riders were planted in 1992 when twenty bull riders made the decision to save and promote the sport of rodeo. For this purpose, every one of them chipped in with one thousand dollars each and formed an organization which later came to be known as Professional Bull Riders. Today, this organization is at the forefront of the rodeo movement and hosts more than three hundred events each year as part of its three tours, the Built Ford Tough Series, the Velocity Tour and the Touring Pro Division.

Currently, more than six hundred cowboys from different countries including, the United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Australia are members of the Professional Bull Riders. In the U.S, PBR events are televised on CBS Sports Network and CBS.
