About the Redblacks

Established in 2010, the Ottawa Redblacks made their Canadian Football League (CFL) debut in 2014. They are the third CFL franchise to ply their trade in Ottawa. As is the case with most expansion franchises, the Redblacks had a relatively mediocre first season. That changed with some inspired recruitment before the next campaign. It proved to be the beginning of a hugely successful period for the side from O-Town.

In 2015, the Redblacks won their first CFL East Division title. They made it to the Grey Cup where the Edmonton Eskimos got the better of them in a close encounter. However, they were not to be denied a year later.

After clinching their second straight East Division crown in 2016, the Redblacks exacted revenge on the Edmonton Eskimos in the crossover. They went on to beat strong favorites Calgary Stampeders in the Grey Cup to become CFL champions for the very first time.

In 2018, the team won their third East Division title in four years and made it to the Grey Cup again. All in all, the Redblacks have won the Grey Cup once and the CFL East Division crown on three occasions.
