Ontario Reign is an ECHL team that belongs to the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. It is the only team in Southern California to play in the ECHL. Moreover the team has had the privilege of being associated with major teams of the NHL and AHL teams like Los Angeles Kings and Manchester Monarchs. The team became the King's affiliate in 2012 when they won the Stanley Cup. They are owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group and the Ontario Reign Professional Hockey LLC. The team's home stadium is the Citizens Business Bank Arena that has a capacity of over ninety five hundred seats. The arena is one of the most happening and most crowded venues for major league games. Under general manager Justin Kemp and head coach Jason Christie, the team has come out in full form this season.
Ontario Reign Cities
Founded in 1993 as the Huntington Blizzard, the team played for ten years under the same name. In 2003, it relocated to Texas to become Texas Wildcats. In 2008-2009, the team became the Ontario Reign to rise as one of the strongest in the ECHL and Pacific Division. With almost two decades in the league, they have won the All-ECHL Attendance Award three times. They have also swept the Pacific Division title twice in four seasons; the latest coming to them in the 2011-2012 season. Their games are known for their fast pace and wonderful team play. Their league and divisional game are also full of fierce competition; loved by sports and hockey fans all over. The team is also known for taking over the Inland Empire for the best nation-wide league attendance for its major games.
With a roster loaded with talented players, the team, had been coached and trained extensively for this season. The team has come together as a strong unit since the Stanley Cup championship win. Players namely Martin Jones, Jordan Nolan and Dwight King became a part of the Los Angeles Kings' roster and helped winning them this title.
