The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were incepted in the year 1961 in LA. They moved to California after the 1964 season and became the California Angels. After the end of the 1996 season they moved once again and this to Anaheim to become the Anaheim Angels. They remained there until 2004 and moved back to their city of birth and have been based their ever since.

Los Angeles Angels: The Roll of Honors

The Angels had to bide their time to make an impact on the MLB. They made it to the playoffs for the first time in the year 1979. That was also the year when they won their first major championship, the division title. That triumph was followed by another two division wins in 1982 and 1986.

The Angels then went through a title drought that ended in the beginning of the 2000s. They went on to win their first AL Pennant in 2002 but that wasn't all that they won that year. They made it all the way to the World Series, their first ever trip to the biggest series in MLB. The Angels took on the Giants and came up on top 4-3 to become World Champions.

The Angels have not won another pennant or a World Series since but they got their hands on six division crowns in that period.
