Missouri Tigers

The Missouri Tigers men's basketball team was introduced in 1906. This program has produced many NBA stars such as Dough Smith, Anthony Peeler, Kareem Rush, DeMarre Carroll and Thomas Gardner. The team achieved its greatest success when they were being coached by Norm Stewart. He remained the coach of the Tigers for four decades and led them to winning six Conference Tournament Championships in 1978, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993. They made it to the Elite Eight in 2002 under Quin Snyder but due to his inconsistent performance as the leader of the program, he was fired in 2006. The team won its most recent Conference title in 2012.

South Carolina Gamecocks

The South Carolina Gamecocks started its basketball program in 1908. The team went on to clinch four Southern Conference titles before Frank McGuire became their coach who led them to an Atlantic Coast Conference crown in 1970 and a ACC Tournament title in 1971. They also appeared in the NCAA Tournament four consecutive times from 1971 to 1974 under his tenure. The Gamecocks qualified for the NCAA Tournament Final Four in 2017.
