Formed in the year 1960, the Minnesota Vikings made their mark for the first time in 1968 when they won the division championship and made their maiden playoffs appearance. Next season was even more successful. They won the division title and added a NFL Championship to the title collection. They have not been able to win a Super Bowl till now though but have won four conference titles and twenty division championships.

The Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions trace their roots back to the year 1930. There were not playoffs in the NFL till 1932 and the Detroit Lions qualified for them at the first attempt. In 1935, they won the division championship followed by the NFL Championship. They won three more NFL Championships in 1952, 1954 and 1957. They have also altogether got their hands on four conference titles and four division championships. The Super Bowl has proved to be a step too far for the team from the Motor City.
