In 1973-74 the team joined United States Hockey League but the season was not an appreciative effort as they landed on the last place that season. It always takes some time to get adjusted and the team proved themselves as a professional group of players as they interacted with other professionals in the rink. In 1976, the team won USHL Championship and grabbed seven games in playoffs of the league. This was the beginning of a new era for the team as it gave a push to their morals too. In the off- season the team was again sold to Chicago Blackhawks owner.
For a long time the team stayed with IHL until 2001-02 when they joined American Hockey League as IHL ceased the operations at that time. In 2004, the team won Calder Cup which was a matter of pride for the team as they defeated Scranton Penguins. Some of the noted teams that faced defeat by Milwaukee Admirals were Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Chicago Wolves and Rochester Americans which was eliminated too. In 2006, Admirals won the second division title as member of American Hockey League thus defeating Grand Rapids Griffins.
After narrowly winning the seven game play-offs, Admirals left Grand Rapids Griffins and Houston Aeros thus proceeding to grab Calder Cup for the second time. With a bright performance over the years and a consistent energy to grab more success, the team is stepping forward every season leaving behind many big names of the league.
