The Big Blue Nation, the fan base of the Kentucky Wildcats, is passionate about all the sports their teams compete in, but just like most college students across the United States of America, they are especially passionate about American football. Football is an American craze, and for college and varsity students, it is all the more addictive when they have competitive teams like the Kentucky Wildcats. What makes their games all the more exciting is the fact that they play in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), known to be the toughest of all conferences when it comes to the game of football. The competitive spirit of the squad has helped keep their games interesting, and they managed to beat the Auburn and Georgia teams to a satisfactory finish in the 2009 season, though their fans were disappointed as they expected better from their team. If you want to see how your favorite team fares this time around against their rivals, then get Kentucky Wildcats tickets fast.

The basketball fans of the Wildcats are hardly disappointed though. Unlike some of the college students, the fan base of the Kentucky Wildcats, or the Big Blue Nation, is simply crazy for the game of basketball. The ardent fans of sports and the team itself are also the worst critics of the Wildcats. Unlike most other fans, they are hardly ever quiet about the various changes made in the squad and are quite vocal in criticizing the decisions of the administration. That is because basketball, both men's and women's, is more than just a sport for the Big Blue Nation; it is a passion that is fueled by the super awesome performance of both the varsity teams on the field. In 2009, the Wildcats became the first team in Division I to grab their 2000th victory in men's basketball. No other team, in the history of Division I, has been able to do this. So it is just another honor that the basketball squad of the Kentucky Wildcats won for both the fans and the varsity.

The University of Kentucky takes pride in its excellent athletic program, known as the Kentucky Wildcats, which competes in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference USA. This is one of the toughest conferences, with a high concentration of some of the best athletic programs in the US. The athletic program of the University comprises nineteen highly talented teams which compete in sports such as football, basketball, golf, hockey, baseball, swimming, track and field, and tennis. The state-of-the-art facilities provided to the athletes of the University have helped them to train better, ensuring better performance on the field. The men's basketball team of the University trains in the Rupp Arena, while the Lady Kats or the women's basketball team plays its home games in the Memorial Coliseum. Cliff Hagen Stadium plays host to all the home games of the baseball team, and the football team plays in the Commonwealth Stadium.

The new facility helped the performances of all the athletic teams, but the men's basketball team simply blew everyone away. The Wildcats had a superb run on the court in 2009, when they recorded their 2000th victory. This was a landmark achievement that meant the world to the Big Blue Nation. Their team has maintained an outstanding winning percentage, which so far has been the best in the NCAA at .760. The Lady Kats have also contributed with their terrific performance over the years. They had an amazing run last season in 2010, when they finished 25-7. Victoria Dunlap, the star player from the Lady Kats squad, won the Player of the Year award for the conference for her outstanding play. Players and performances like hers are the reason why most of the games for the varsity's sport teams get sold out. Get your Kentucky Wildcats tickets now and be a part of the proud Big Blue Nation.
