The Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks represent the University of Kansas in NCAA Division I sports in 16 different sports. The athletics program is part of the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks have etched their name in NCAA folklore by winning major titles in different sports.

Men’s Basketball

The Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball program has won three national titles in 1952, 1988, and 2008. The Jayhawks’ men’s basketball program has shared or outright clinched a whopping 61 conference titles which is an NCAA record. The Big 12 Conference was formed at the beginning of the 1996-1997 season and the Jayhawks have been members ever since. They began to dominate the conference right from the word go, winning 12 straight conference crowns.

Before that, the Jayhawks’ men’s basketball team played as members of the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Big Six Conference, the Big Seven Conference, and the Big Eight Conference during different time periods from 1907 onwards.

The Kansas Jayhawks have also clinched 28 Conference Tournaments over the course of their glorious history.

The Oklahoma Sooners are members of the Big 12 Conference and have 19 different sports in NCAA Division I. They have won titles in a lot of different sports over the years and football has arguably been their biggest strength.

The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the most legendary and successful football programs in history. Their overall winning record stands at above .700. They have also appeared in 54 bowl games, winning 30 of those encounters.
