Book your Houston Rockets tickets and watch the former two-time NBA Champions play live during this all-important season. The Rockets had shown a lot of promise, but their progress has stalled somewhat over the last two seasons. They will be keen to bounce back to relevance once again this term.
In the 1981-1982 campaign, Moses Malone set a Rockets' record for the most points in a season with 2520.
Hakeem Olajuwon has played the highest number of games for the Rockets with 1,117 in total.
Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon are the only Rockets players in history to win the NBA MVP award.
Houston Rockets – The Background
The Houston Rockets' history dates back to their origins in San Diego in 1967. They got off to a promising start in the NBA and qualified for the postseason at the end of their second season. They played in San Diego for two more seasons before relocating to their current city, Houston.
The Move to Houston and Success Comes Calling
They did well during their early years in the new city and went to the conference semifinals in their third year. They were making their mark on the league and in 1976-77, they managed to clinch their first division championship. Then four years later, they obtained their first conference title too. The Rockets were now in the NBA Finals to take on the Boston Celtics. The Rockets, unfortunately, came up short 4-2. They faced the Boston Celtics once again in the NBA Finals in 1986, and lost by the same score this time around as well.
The NBA Championships
The arrival of the 1990s ushered in a new era of success for the Houston Rockets. It all began with the 1993-94 season, when the Rockets went to the NBA Finals and beat the New York Knicks 4-3 to land their maiden NBA Championship. They weren't done yet either; the following season, they swept the Orlando Magic 4-0 to win their second successive championship. What made that triumph extra special was the fact that the Rockets were seeded 6th going into the playoffs, making them the lowest seeded side to win the title in NBA history. All in all, the Houston Rockets have won the following championships:NBA Championships – 02.
Conference Championships – 04.
Division Championships – 08.
Four of the eight division titles won by the Houston Rockets have come their way between 2015 and 2020. The last two seasons have not gone according to plan for them, but they will be eager to return to winning ways. If you want to join the ride, then book your Houston Rockets tickets as soon as possible.
