The Astros

The Houston Astros previously known as Colt.45s were formed in the year 1962. The team posted its first .500 season in 1969. The first time that the Astros reached the playoffs was in 1980. In the same season they claimed the division championship which was the side?s first major achievement.

The Astros went through a low phase in terms of performances for some time but bounced back with three consecutive division championships (1997, 1998, 1999). In 2005, the team won its first NL Pennant and also went to the World Series but lost to the Chicago White Sox.

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is a state of the art facility that is set to open in the spring of 2017. It has a seating capacity for 6,500. It will host the annual spring training sessions for two baseball teams, the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros. The latter?s clubhouse is located on the north side of the complex while the former?s is towards the south. Both teams will be seen taking on each other as part of the spring training.
