FC Dallas is a professional American soccer club based in Frisco, Dallas, Texas. The club competes in America’s premier soccer league, Major League Soccer (MLS) and plays in the MLS Western Conference. The franchise was one of the ten charter clubs of the MLS and has competed in every season of the league since its inception. The team was originally known as the Dallas Burn and the famous Cotton Bowl Stadium became the team’s first home. In 2002, the league owned team was bought by the Lamar Hunt family who took over operating rights. In 2004 the club’s name was officially changed to FC Dallas and a new logo and new uniforms were released as part of the club’s rebranding.  In 2005, they moved to their new home, the Toyota Stadium.

The FC Dallas Era:

The start of the FC Dallas era was not such a bright one, as the team would not make it to playoffs consistently or would bow out in the early stages of the playoffs. That is until the 2010-2011 season, when they lost just four games all season. They made it past the playoffs stage with ease and reached their first ever MLS Cup game, but narrowly lost out on the title after a 2-1 defeat in extra time.

2015 Season:

The 2015 Season was full of promise for the club. Despite starting off slow, they built momentum and went on to finish at the top of the Western Conference. The team moved passed the Conference Semifinals after a penalty shootout against the Seattle Sounders, but lost in the Conference Finals to the Portland Timbers.
