Established back in the year 2008, the Fargo Force is based in the American state of North Dakota and takes part in the Tier 1 junior West Division of the USHL. Currently the team is coached by John Marks with Byron Pool as the assistant coach. Supporting the colors black, white and blue, the ice hockey team is known to play their home games at the Scheels Arena, located in the city of Fargo. Previously known as The Urban Plains Center, the complex is multi-purpose in nature and over the years has become host to numerous basketball and ice hockey events. The construction of the arena cost twenty seven million dollars and broke ground in 2007. The arena was completed within a year and was inaugurated in 2008 after which numerous rodeos, concerts, basketball events and ice hockey games were held. It can provide seating space for around six thousand spectators in total, so if you wish to watch an upcoming game at the venue, all you need to do is buy your own set of tickets immediately.
It was in the year 2008 that the prior coach of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux, Dean Blais, decided to establish a team that would play in the USHL, as Fargo’s previous official team the Fargo-Moorhead Jets were relocating. With this decision, a contest was held which would choose the name of the team. The names that were narrowed via this contest were Fargo Fire, Fargo Phantoms and Fargo Force. The largest numbers of votes were given to the Fargo Force and hence the official name of the team was chosen. Blais stayed with the team for one season during which he was able to take the team to the Clark Cup Finals of the United States Hockey League. When Blais left, the assistant coach of the time, Jason Herter became the head coach and took charge of the post till the 2011 season after which John Marks became the head coach.
The current roster of the team as of 2013 consists of thirteen forward players, eight defensemen and two goaltenders that include players, Nate Arentz, Bryn Chyzyk, Blake Clarke, Austin Farley, Alex Lafallo, A.J. Reid, Jordan Nelson, Reed Peters, Zane Gotheberg, David Mead, Willie Corrin, Justin Wade, Taylor Richart and Neal Goff, amongst numerous others.
Some of the most successful games played by the Fargo Force team consist of the 2008-09 United States Hockey League playoff game in which it was able to triumph against the Omaha Lancers winning three out of five games. Their second playoff qualification occurred a year later when they were able to defeat the Sioux Falls Stampede by winning three games again. If you wish to see this team crush their competitors once again, all you need to do is buy Fargo Force tickets.
