Drexel University is a famous a private research university in USA. It is building its reputation in almost every field of education. A nonprofit organization, Drexel athletic club was developed to provide support to the deserving athletes and students. Like its other departments, Drexel University has a competent sports department as well, which contains a number of competent athletic teams. They compete in Colonial Athletic Association with full enthusiasm. Drexel’s athletic programs belongs to NCCA Division I sports. Drexel Dragons has got eighteen athletic teams, out of which nine are women’s and nine men’s teams. The athletic department of the university has been famous for a long time now. It facilitates athletes effectively and the system is managed by university administration.


Drexel Dragons include capable athletic teams of men’s and women’s basketball, field hockey, rowing, rugby, soccer, wrestling, football, lacrosse and shotokan karate. Drexel’s athletic teams have set a number of records and won numerous championships and trophies. The coach of Drexel men’s basketball is Bruiser Flint. With the hard work of its basketball team and efforts of its coach, they have won NCCA Basketball Tournaments as well. It has also made a record in National Invitational Tournament. Drexel Dragons has also received number of achievements in NCCA Women’s Division I Basketball Tournament.


Drexel Dragons field hockey team has won a number of titles including CAA Season Title. When the Drexel Dragons women’s Field hockey team won its first NCCA tournament, it was the first NCCA victory of its women’s field hockey team. They have made a record of winning consecutive tournaments against the team of other universities. They have won NCCA Women’s Field Hockey Championship as well.


Drexel lacrosse team has appeared in Colonial Tournament and has won three Colonial Conferences as well. Charlotte Wood, the athlete of Drexel women’s lacrosse has made way to the award list of Tewaaraton Trophy which contains all the collegiate divisions’ top lacrosse players. The rowing team of Drexel Dragons has participated in the largest intercollegiate rowing event in USA, Dad Vail Regatta. Men’s team has won gold medals there and the women’s team has played for Jeffries Cup. Women’s Rugby team has won National Women's Collegiate Division IV championship.


The achievements of Drexel Dragons are certainly great. They have won various championships and awards in a number of sports. They have been known all over the place for their talent and performance. Drexel Dragons offer remarkable services to athletes, such as Bachelor’s Barge Club and Daskalakis Athletic Center which are for the regular athletes as well as the starters. Drexel Pool, fitness center and playing room is also there for its talented athletes. To honor the dedicated athletes, the university has established a Hall of Fame were players have been rewarded for their wonderful contributions and deserving achievements. Not only the students, but the coaches and administrations have also been honored there for their support and cooperation.
