Costa Rica Tickets

As the FIFA World Cup tournament draws near, the thirty two teams and nations who have qualified for the cup are practicing and getting ready for their matches. Costa Rica is one of the countries whose national soccer team has qualified for the tournament. It is a member of the Costa Rican Football Federation. This association is part of the UNCAF sub–confederation consisting of Central American countries and part of the larger CONCACAF confederation. Costa Rica is one of the top ranked teams in its confederation and is coached by head coach Jorge Luis Pinto. The captain of the team is Bryan Ruiz with Walter Centeno holding the record for the most caps at one hundred and thirty seven. The team's top scorer is Rolando Fonseca, with forty seven goals scored to date, and a fan favorite for all those buying Costa Rica tickets for the team's upcoming soccer matches.

Costa Rica plays home games at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica or the National Stadium of Costa Rica. It has been ranked in the top twenty in the FIFA Rankings and in the top fifteen in the Elo Rankings. The first international match saw the Costa Rican national soccer team pitted against that of El Salvador in Guatemala City, Guatemala in 1921. The team won the match with a mind blowing 7–0 score. Its biggest win so far, however, was against the Puerto Rico national soccer team, which it defeated by 12–0 in 1946 in a match that took place in Barranquilla, Colombia. So far, the Costa Rica national soccer team has qualified for and played in four FIFA World Cups since 1990 and made it as far as the sixteenth round.

Costa Rica has also proven to be a tough contender in the other international soccer tournaments. In the CONCACAF Championship & Gold Cup, the team has had fifteen appearances to date and won three Championships. In these tournaments, it has faced and defeated the best teams from the Americas, North America, South America and Central America. This is an astounding achievement for the region which is home to World Cup champions such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. In the Copa America, yet another competitive international tournament, the team has had four appearances since 1997 and has made it to the quarterfinals twice.

Nicknamed the Le Sele and the Los Ticos, this national soccer team will be representing Costa Rica in the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup, taking place in Brazil. It is ranked third in its confederation and is the most successful team in the Central American region, having qualified for four FIFA World Cups. They have also won the UNCAF Nations Cup a record seven times, making them a team to catch this year in Brazil, with Costa Rica tickets in hand for the exciting event that is the FIFA 2014 World Cup tournament.
