The Circle City Classic is a yearly American college football game held at the Lucas Oil Stadium each year in Indianapolis, Indiana. Formerly held at the RCA Dome, this iconic game has been organized since 1983. Sponsored by American Family Insurance, the bowl game has featured some of the best teams from historically black colleges and universities. In 2009, the bowl game featured the Alabama A&M University versus the Tuskegee University, with the Tuskegee University winning the bowl game 34-24. For those looking to see a college football team live, Circle City Classic tickets are available.

In 2010, the Circle City Classic saw the Tennessee State University pitted against the North Carolina A&T State University. This football game is often the main attraction at a weekend long festival that also plays host to a musical concert, a parade and the Miss Circle City Classic Corporation, a pageant that recognizes African high school seniors who have a grade point average of two point seven and above, with the winner of the pageant receiving a scholarship for college during the next year.

The aim of the Circle City Classic is to work towards educational achievement and cultural excellence by providing a platform for showcasing the tradition, energy and spirit of the historically black colleges and universities in the US. Organized by the Indiana Sports Corporation and the Indiana Black Expo Inc, it is an event whose proceeds go towards funding youth initiatives and scholarships. From 1984 onwards, more than one million dollars have been awarded to students from Indiana towards pursuing higher education in America’s colleges and universities.

This football game draws its roots to the vision of Rev. Charles William whose dream was to organized spectacular African American events in the US that showcased the tradition and economic power of the African American community. This vision was turned into a reality by the Lilly Endowment, Indiana Black Expo and Indiana Sports Corporation in 1984. The first football game featured the Grambling State Tigers pitted against the Mississippi State Delta Devils. Thirty years on and this football game is synonymous with competitive college football championships.

Other programs have been brought about as a result of this football game. This includes the Miss Circle City Classic Coronation, Challenge of Champions, College Readiness Workshops, Cheerleading Clinic and Classic Youth Football. Each of these programs honor the legacy of Rev. Charles Williams in a phenomenal manner, easily seen live by getting Circle City Classic tickets. The quality of the event is shown by the fact that the Indiana Sports Corporation was also the organizer of Super Bowl XLVI, held in 2012
