The Chicago Fire is historically one of the most successful sides in Major League soccer. In the past decade and a half, the team has won almost everything there is to win in the game domestically that ranks them among the big boys in the U.S. All set and ready to make their mark this season as well, the franchise and everyone associated with it will need to pull together in the same direction to make it work. So fans grab your Chicago Fire tickets and root for your team from the stands, like true supporters.
The Chicago Fire was formed on 8th October, 1997. The city of Chicago has a varied ethnic culture so the management of the side took full advantage of it and signed players from all nationalities. Coupled with the American talent the side possessed, Chicago Fire made their mark on the league immediately in the debut season. Bob Bradley was in charge of the side and under his watchful eyes and against all expectations the franchise did a historic double. Columbus Crew fell in the U.S. Open Cup and D.C.United was downed in the final of the MLS Cup final. It was a sensational start to the side’s professional life in the league and the success put them right up there as a team to beat.
As the new millennium beckoned the Chicago Fire signed players like Hristo Stoitchkov who had serious international pedigree for sustainable success. The move paid dividends and the franchise went on to capture their second U.S. Open Cup in 2000. They made it to the final of the MLS Cup as well but came up short against the talented Kansas City. The success during those early years made them a force to be reckoned with and made other teams sit up and take the Fire seriously. The success on field had a positive impact off field and Chicago Fire tickets started getting bought by people who weren’t supporters of the team. Two years later, Dave Sarachan became the coach and the Fire moved out of their permanent home the Soldier Field as it underwent renovations. The move did not have any negative impact as by the end of the season the U.S. Open Cup and the Supporters Shield were put in the trophy cabinet. Some senior players retired or departed in the following seasons to kick start a major rebuilding phase.
The Chicago Fire left the Soldier Field in 2006 forever and moved to their brand new current home the Toyota Park. It proved to be a lucky omen as the franchise put another U.S. Open Cup in their trophy cabinet. Under the new coach Juan Carlos Osorio, the team made the playoff once again. Under their current coach Frank Klopas, the side has taken huge strides forward in their quest to go to capture another league title. Chicago Fire tickets are now available for you to buy and back your team in their efforts to reach the pinnacle once again.
