This year the host country is the exotic Brazil where around fourteen venues are prepared to hold the games.

Worth mentioning in this year?s selection of teams is the European champion Belgium which is returning to the stage of World Cup after 12 years. To start off, Belgium features a fresh group loaded with stars that have all the talent to impress the world while in Brazil. As a matter of fact, the team is considered by some to be the dark horse that can make a long run this time. Now what makes the football team of Belgium so special. Before it was hit by a World Cup drought, Belgium participated in six straight events; from 1982 to 2002. The team gave the best performance in 1986 when it finished at the fourth spot. Enzo Scifo was named the ?best young player of the tournament?. In 2014 World Cup, Belgium is coming together with South Korea in Match 47. The game is going to be held at Arena de Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo which has been constructed especially for FIFA World Cup 2014. Located near Itaquera, Arena de Sao Paulo will not only host the opening match, it will also be the venue for five games, including a semi final.   

This match will be a real test of potential on the part of Belgium because the team it is coming up against is a tough opponent. To be exact, South Korea is the number one team in Asia as it reached the semi finals in 2002. It has taken part in nine FIFA World Cup tournaments and has managed to reach as far as round 16 in the 2010 tournament. But given the talent in Belgium?s squad and their past performances, there are more chances than not of Belgium passing through this game in a breeze.
