Auburn Tigers is the name adopted by the collegiate teams that are supported by the Auburn University. The 19 varsity sports that include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, swimming, tennis, track and field, gymnastics, equestrian, volleyball  and softball, all support the colors orange and navy blue. The football team from the university started playing in 1892. It initially appeared as an independent team for two years, before joining the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 1985. After twenty five years, the Tigers joined the Southern Conference in 1920. Currently the team is a member of the Southeast Conference. It partakes in the Western Division, which it joined in 1992.

 

Over the years, Auburn Tigers has achieved immense success, with seven undefeated seasons, twelve conference titles and eight division wins. The Tigers are ranked twelfth in terms of the highest number of Football Subdivision wins. The football team has made it to the AP Poll’s Top 25 list a total of thirty seven times, with eighteen top 10 rankings. Auburn Tigers have an all-time record of 733-416-47 with a 0.633 winning percentage. The team’s postseason bowl record is 22-14-2.

 

Auburn Tigers have produced 66 All-American consensus players and 3 Heisman Trophy winners. A total of twelve players from the team have received induction into College Football Hall of Fame.
