The Armed Forces Bowl is a football game that takes place once every year. The event was established back in the year 2003 when the first college football bowl game was played between the Boise State Broncos and Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, with the former coming out as winners.

This mega event started off as the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl and the name was changed three years later when it was renamed to Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl as a result of a change in corporate sponsorship. It is among one of the six annual bowl games that are represented, televised and produced by the popular American global cable television network Entertainment and Sports Programming Network or ESPN. Each year, two college football teams are selected based on a certain criteria in order to compete against each other to determine which team is better.

This year’s match-up will be played between the Air Force Falcons football team and the Rice Owls football team, and it is expected to be a very closely fought match. The game will be played at the Amon G. Carter Stadium in Texas. It is a stadium that can seat up to forty four thousand people, all of which are expected to be occupied for this upcoming encounter. If previous years’ matches are to be considered, this year’s version will surely be a cracking game between two exceptionally talented football teams.
