Arenacross operates as a part of AMA Supercross Championship, and Supercross is held on an artificially made dirt track as compared to Motocross. Motocross on the other hand is held on an off-road track in a natural environment and the history of Motocross dates back to 1924 when an event by the name of Scrambles was held on a format similar to Motocross in Surrey, England. Scrambles turned out to be the earliest incarnation of Motocross and it evolved. Over the passage of time, the patrons of the sport further modified it by adding more obstacles to the track while shortening it considerably to increase the laps.
