About Americas Got Talent

America’s Got Talent runs on a format that is as innovative & groundbreaking as the acts featured. The producers’ auditions are first held months before the live final auditions. There are no live audiences at the start, & they are held in the cities that will later host the televised rounds. The acts proceeding from the producers’ auditions will then go to the judges’ auditions, where a live audience awaits them. The acts submit videos on YouTube which are watched by the judges as well. 48 acts make it through, which are divided into four groups of 12 each. There are separate performance & results nights for each group. This way, the competition proceeds to Top 24 semifinalists & then the Top 4 Finalists fight it out in the grand finale. There are three judges, & each has buzzers placed in front of them during the performances. If they do not like certain act & wish it to stop, they press the buzzer & a cross flashes with their name. Three crosses during the performance’s allocated time slot can bring a halt to the performance. On the other hand, if the performance is allowed to complete, the judges then vote. Audiences are also actively involved in the voting process. For example, during certain rounds where 12 acts have to make it through, eleven are decided by the judges & one by the audience’s general vote. The finale, of course, lies entirely in the hands of the nationwide vote with no judges making the final decision.

Simon Cowell is the executive producer of the show, currently judging the show’s British counterpart, Britain’s Got Talent (he is barred from judging the American version due to contractual obligations), & X Factor. Cowell rose to prominence with his harsh & blatant remarks as judge on American Idol, often drawing the wrath of the crowd but also firmly establishing his vast knowledge regarding music & the arts. BAFTA winning former dancer Ken Warwick is the other executive producer, having pulled the strings at American Idol as well. The shows judges have changed a number of times, but last season’s trio is expected to reappear. They included rock queen & producer Sharon Osbourne, former British leading tabloid editor Piers Morgan, & Canadian stand-up comedian & actor Howie Mandel. The show’s host, Nick Cannon, has retained the spot he took from Jerry Springer last year. The creative direction team is headed by Brian Friedman. The first season started in 2006, with the audition tour stopping over at New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, & Atlanta.

America’s Got Talent has constantly amazed with its vast array of bristling talent. The audience is also actively involved in voting, which makes all the more engaging. Ratings have skyrocketed for the series. Fans with America’s Got Talent tickets for the upcoming shows will be thrilled with watching the Top Ten perform, including Prince Poppycock (opera singer), Blacklight performers Fighting Gravity, 11-year-old opera singer Jackie Evancho (runner up), & eventual winner, country & soul singer Michael Grimm.

America’s Got Talent has set a new benchmark. It redefines entertainment, bringing together amateur performers who have set the stage ablaze across America. Americas Got Talent tickets guarantee a night in the company of performers who have gripped the nation’s imagination.
